Shag Tracks
presented by Chattanooga Choo Choo
August 18th &ndash 20th
by Jo Reynolds, ABA Treasurer and ABA Director for the Memphis Bop Club

Relaxing in the pool
What can I say about Chattanooga's Shag Tracks except “You shoulda been there!” The music was outstanding with Larry Huff (Birmingham, AI) and David Sessoms (Fayetteville, NC), playing both Friday and Saturday nights. The facility, The Alhambra Shrine Temple, was well cooled, had a great dance floor, and ample seating around the floor. Add the tasty meals and snacks provided both nights and some good dancing partners and you're full, tired, and happy at the end of the evening.
As for the days — check out the pool party, which was “Standing Room Only,” even in the pool. Sonny and Cher were spotted amongst the crowd, and were persuaded to sing a few. There was swinging and swaying from the “Hula Girls” of Louisville along with a few recruits, including yours truly, and A MAN! (who stole the show). They covered it all with good music, dancing, free lunch, and duck races.

The hospitality and general friendliness of Choo Choo Shag Club is definitely the driving force that helps make this party such a success.
Shag Tracks sells out at 350. So when you see flyers appear, book it early. You won't be sorry.
If you are in their neighborhood on Thursday, join them on their regular dance night. You will be well received in one of the nicest club locations I have ever visited. They even put in their own dance floor, and it is wonderful.
You won't meet a stranger.
