Move Across The River

2007

American Bop Association Convention

The Cincinnati Bop Club's “Move Across the River ‘2007” is literally the GRAND FINALE of the Party Season! The club’s beautiful wood 4.000 square foot floor, designed and built by the club and laid in the 14,000 square foot ballroom of the Drawbridge Hotel allows ample room for all dancers to strut their stuff.

“Move Across the River” is the Cincinnati Bop Club’s four day party that has grown famous for its fantastic hospitality, great entertainment and workshops all provided for a low, low cost of $40.

The party starts on Wednesday night, November 7, with the pre-party held in the Crossbow Lounge at the Drawbridge Hotel with music by Dee Jays Larry Huff & Joanne Johnson. Thursday is a free Hospitality room in the afternoon and open dancing until 2 a.m with this years special entertainment “The Band of OZ” preforming live from 9 p.m. til 11 p.m.

“This year’s party, will be the Cincinnati Bop Club’s Fifteenth Anniversary”

Friday morning starts early with a Chicago Jitterbug workshop by Gloria Medel & Bev Solazzo and a Arkansas Street Swing workshop by Mike & Kim Nelson of Cabot, AR. Open dancing all afternoon is followed by a Hospitality Suite that feeds and waters about 350 – 400 dancers. Friday night is club T-Shirt night for the various clubs attending (usually about 47 clubs from 25 States and Canada) along with fantastic dance demos.

Saturday morning gives the party-goers more to learn! A St. Louis Imperial Swing workshop by Matt Auclair followed by Carolina Shag with Steve & Kathy Day From Boiling Spring, SC. There is more open dancing and more free Hospitality in the afternoon. The weather is not quite winter yet in November so you can go sightseeing, shopping or gambling at the near by Casino!

Saturday night’s party gives everyone a short break in their dancing to watch some more show-stopping dance demos and the American Bop Association Hall of Fame inductions and our tribute to all our veterans. Imagine, all of this for $40!

This year’s party, which will be the Cincinnati Bop Club’s Fifteenth Anniversary is held at the (newly remodeled) Drawbridge Estates in Ft. Mitchell, KY, just a few miles south of Cincinnati on I-75. Pleasing the party-goers is what Cincinnati is all about. We”ll provide the floor, the food and the best music available anywhere! The dancing is up to you!
